Showers and thunderstorms moving across the area have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Advisory for Westchester and Putnam counties Thursday morning.

There have also been some traffic delays, including on the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Mount Kisco, following a crash in the area of the Croton Avenue Bridge in Mount Kisco that occurred just before 7 p.m.

Dangerous lightning, thunder and heavy rainfall have accompanied the round of storms.

The Flash Flood Advisory is in effect until 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

There have been gauge reports of up to 1 inch of rainfall occurring within an hour. Minor flooding of poor drainage areas is expected across the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Ossining, Peekskill, Mount Kisco, Mahopac, Lake Carmel and Brewster, the National Weather Service said.

Showers are expected to continue until around 3 p.m. Thursday, with more storms possible. There will still be a chance for more showers through the evening. Thursday's high temperature will be in the mid-70s.
